To begin though, shoot some starter fluid down the air filter intake while cranking it over, if it starts and dies you have fuel problem. If nothing happens then its a spark problem. SOURCE: engine cranks but won't start. If it is an electrical Fuel Pump, you will hear the pump whirring as soon as you turn the key to "ON". If you can't hear it, the fuel pump is bad. If it is a mechanical fuel pump on the engine, remove the hose that goes into the carburator. And crank the engine.The remote start does work. The car wouldn't start with the remote when it was very cold out. It would crank but then time out after like 15 seconds. The you have to put the pedal to the floor due to flooding, and it starts.
