Jun 24, 2021 · Devil in the shade. Take the gun and Pull back the slide and start drying firing it. Then Push the slide forward while dry firing it a number of times. This should work. Also do the same procedure with a mag in. Keep trying this and it should release. This is a common issue. The First Round Fired is the most critical.
If you aren’t familiar the Ruger Security 9 was released in late 2017 and the intention of the pistol was to replace the Ruger SR series of pistols and the LCP II. The Ruger SR series was later discontinued in 2019 but the LCP series lives on. The Ruger Security 9 has been reported to have a few issues namely with feeding and ejecting.Evidently, there is definitely something amiss with the guide rod assembly. As I mentioned above, try to manipulate the guiderod assembly with a dental pick or similiar object while "shaking" the pistol. Put the safety in the off-safe position. I just picked up my EC9s and tried to disassemble it, but the slide wouldn't budge. Watched a couple vids with the owner simply pushing the back of the slide with their thumb. Tried that, tried yanking on it, tried begging, pleading, offering my first ... Problems with Max 9. Today was the second time I was able to take my new Max 9 out to the range. The first time I did, the slide wasn't able to return to battery via slingshoting it. Also, just after firing a box of range rounds, the plastic takedown gate completely broke off causing the slide to get stuck back after almost every shot.
