You will have to click on the survivors and tell them what work they have to do. To collect wood, farming, base area, stack corpses, and few other jobs you need to designate an area for that. Get Subpar Survivors. It's an extra mod that goes along with the other and helps with fps. Prepare for the first half a day to full day to be laggy.
