Our community is made up of 18 chapters with over 6,200 members representing almost half of the undergraduate women on this campus. Panhellenic women live through thought, word, and action to create a positive impact on Auburn’s campus for members of the community both Greek and non-Greek. At Auburn University, some sororities require a recommendation from an alumna member of that sorority before the sorority may extend a bid to that woman. A recommendation simply introduces a woman to the sorority so that the sorority members may become better acquainted with her before recruitment begins. The average minimum GPA requirement for pledging tends to be around a 3.2, but some sororities have cutoffs that are higher. The all sorority GPA is usually above a 3.2.

Greek life is on the decline at Auburn and isn’t as big as it is at Alabama. With that being said, I would say that sororities have a stronger footing than the fraternities do.
