May 2, 2024 · Due to lack of Covid travel, I have an expired (at the end of August 2021) metrocard. It may have some money left on it. I'm really not sure. Usually, I would just exchange it at a metrocard machine in any subway stop, however, next week I am flying in to JFK instead of arriving on Amtrak as I usually do. Once the AirTrain at JFK completes the changeover, we won’t need MetroCards anymore. But who knows when that will happen?
